“I have been at WindTamer for just over two months,” said Mark Matthews, WindTamer’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “When I arrived, the backlog of inquiries was literally overwhelming. We have been addressing these inquiries as rapidly as possible and preparing detailed proposals to who we consider to be serious and qualified buyers. We have also recently hired additional sales personnel. Even so, the backlog of inquiries has actually increased. As a further means of addressing this backlog, we have also focused on signing qualified distributors in other areas of the country who will be fielding inquiries from their region, providing data and other information to potential buyers, closing sales orders and installing and servicing our turbines. We expect our distributor network to increase significantly in the coming weeks.”
Mr. Matthews said that WindTamer has received numerous proposals from parties interested in becoming distributors, and the Company is being highly selective in accepting distributors. Among other things, distributor candidates must have a strong market presence in their area and must be willing to hire a sales and service force dedicated exclusively to WindTamer. Distributors must agree to sell exclusively WindTamer turbines, and also have construction and installation capabilities and the ability to provide ongoing maintenance and warranty service if required.
“We are determined to establish an elite distributor network that will represent, market, install and service our products according to the highest possible standards,” said Mr. Matthews.
Curtis Mattingly, CEO of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania-based BCM Green Power Solutions, Inc., said, “I am very excited to be representing a product that so completely differentiates itself from the competition. With WindTamer, we can market a truly viable clean energy solution to a wide range of residential, small business and industrial markets. WindTamer has a return on investment that makes sense, and its payback is two to three times quicker than anything else out there. WindTamer is of a size that can be managed and worked with, but it’s also scalable so that it can be adapted to a wide variety of applications and customers. WindTamer overcomes virtually all of the limitations and objections its competitors are usually faced with, and I see a huge market for this product.”
WindTamer began selling its turbines in mid-November 2009, and has sold 27 turbines to date. In addition, Mr. Matthews said that since he joined WindTamer on December 17, 2009 he has prepared and sent over 100 proposals to qualified potential customers who have inquired about WindTamer’s turbines and requested formal proposal letters following discussions with the Company. Many of these proposals relate to the possible purchase of multiple units and involve entities such as wind farm operators, landfill operators, shopping malls, universities, commercial business, police and fire departments and sports facilities. A number of these proposals involve entities considering installing the Company’s turbines in countries other than the United States.
WindTamer has been strengthening its supply chain and establishing an operations process that will enable the Company to meet rising demand. Adeeb Saba, Vice President of Operations, said, “Since I joined WindTamer on December 29, 2009, I have focused my efforts on establishing a qualified supply chain to ensure that we can handle current and future orders. We have had a major focus on developing and optimizing WindTamer’s materials management and quality control systems which will enable us to efficiently meet increasing orders for our turbines. We have also increased staffing levels in both the materials and engineering groups.”
WindTamer also announced that the U.S. Patent and Trade Office issued to WindTamer a new patent (Patent Number US D608,736S) relating to the design of its wind turbine. Gerald Brock, Chief Executive Officer, Chairman of the Board and the inventor of the WindTamer technology, stated, “Even though we believe we are already ahead of the competition we are constantly working on improving the design and performance of the WindTamer technology. We are pleased that WindTamer was issued its second patent and we are optimistic that additional patents will be issued to us.” WindTamer currently has 5 additional patents pending.
WindTamer also said that its wind turbine will be on display at the New York Farm Show being held at the Syracuse, New York State Fairgrounds February 25-27 as it enters the Syracuse, New York market. WindTamer’s booth will be at the Toyota Exhibit Center (Building #5).
